Open House Dublin 2018

Open House Dublin 2018

In October 2018, I volunteered as a steward with the Irish Architectural Foundation for the Open House weekend. The initiative set up in Dublin in 2005 has seen huge growth during that time in promoting awareness and education of period and listed structures throughout Dublin. I was fortunate to be working at Blackhall Place in Dublin 8 which was acquired by The Incorporated Law Society of Ireland in 1970. Designed by the Cork born architect, Thomas Ivory in 178. Originally built as a school premises for the King’s Hospital, the building was later declared as the premises of the society by President Joseph L, Dundon and was opened after renovation works in 1978 by An Taoiseach Jack Lynch.
